Bed and Breakfast, Grasmere B&B
Raise View House Bed & Breakfast
Welcome to Raise View House in Grasmere, Cumbria... Somewhere Special in the Heart of the English Lake District.
A traditional Lakeland Stone House with magnificent views of the surrounding fells where Karen and John Greaves have created an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness, which is apparent from the moment you arrive and service so good you hardly notice it.
Just five minutes walk from the centre of the village Raise View House is perfectly situated to explore the whole region yet some of the area's most breathtaking scenery and fascinating attractions are right on the doorstep.
The attention to detail, good food, quality of service and Karen's interior design skills are why so many guests keep coming back year after year.
The House dates back to the 1900's and was once the village shop. The atmosphere is one of charm and style usually associated with a luxurious small hotel.
The garden is a picture at all times of the year and with the dramatic backdrop of the Easedale Fells and the famed 'Lion and the Lamb' it is without doubt a special and memorable view.
An abundance of fresh flowers, picture lined walls, a real fire on cold days, fine Wedgwood Countryware china and stylish sympathetic décor are just some of the ingredients of this delightful Guest House.
Karen and John are true 'Lake Lovers' and their desire for their guests to enjoy their stay in their home is obvious.
The House is furnished to the highest standards and Karen's flair for interior design is apparent.
You are encouraged to relax in the exquisitely furnished guest lounge and possibly enjoy your favourite 'tipple' from the well-stocked honesty bar.
Packed lunches are available on request.
For our cat loving guests Oscar and Tilly will be delighted to welcome you to Raise View.

Things to do around Grasmere
Lying peacefully between lake and mountains, no wonder this special place inspired painters and poets such as William Wordsworth who described Grasmere as 'The fairest place on Earth' and who would argue with the great man.
Yet despite its unhurried pace of life, you'll never be short of something to do in Grasmere: visit the Wordsworth Museum and Dove Cottage; or enjoy visiting our wide variety of shops, selling everything from boots and books to Grasmere's famous Gingerbread, baked to a secret recipe in the same tiny shop since 1854.
The Heaton Cooper Studio displays three generations of this painting family, or visit the prestigious Lakes Artist's Summer Exhibition in the Village Hall, where the talented Grasmere Players also entertain frequently throughout the year.
If it's walking you're after Grasmere has the lot, from a gentle stroll around the Lake and up to Loughrigg Terrace to the challenging high fell walks over to the Langdales and the Helvellyn range and all achievable from the front door.
Raise View House is perfectly situated to enjoy all the Lake District has to offer.
Karen and John are always at hand to offer their advice and because the weather plays such an important factor the local Internet forecast is displayed daily for our guests.
