We even provide a local cyclist rescue service, for guests running late or having trouble with their bikes.

Here on the tip of the Cartmel Peninsula, an elegant mile long promenade extends the length of the town and overlooks the vast sandy reaches of Morecambe bay. The piping call of the charismatic Oystercatcher reminds us that here is a sanctuary for exhausted migrant birds escaping an arctic winter. In summer the pavements and railings are festooned with displays of fine art, local photography and handicrafts.

The promenade area where you can ride your bicycle also has tennis, crazy golf, a magnificent lake with exotic wildfowl, an extensive childrens play area, skateboard park and cafe.

Further afield within a few miles can be found Ducky’s children’s farm with indoor play area, boating and steamer cruises on Windermere, fishing for trout on the beautiful Esthwaite fishery, steam trains and motor museum near Haverthwaite and the secluded sophisticated beauty of Coniston Water, home of John Ruskin and Alfred Lord Tennyson.
