Torridge House is a comfortable Georgian house offering high quality bed and breakfast, situated in a quiet street in the heart of the village, it is only a moment’s walk from The Quay and the water. It is stylish and unfussy, although not what you might call boutique. The house is over a hundred years old and full of character. It has a friendly relaxed atmosphere where I hope you will feel perfectly at home. My aim at Torridge House is to provide superior, comfortable accommodation in a unique and interesting setting. It is light and airy in summer with a wood burning stove in the conservatory in the winter. For those staying here for more than a brief night it is hoped you will make use of the comfy sofas in the sitting room, the huge collection of dvds, or have a picnic in the lovely garden and enjoy the varied wild life. We have bats, woodpeckers, gold finches and plenty of sparrows as well as newts and dragonflies in the ponds. The Guest Lounge is on the ground floor at the front of the house and is available at all times. You can take tea/coffee, quaff wine or have a takeaway if you wish and there is a television equipped with iplayer and dvd player – loads of films to choose from. There is also a collection of board games, packs of cards and information about the area etc. The 3 bedrooms, 2 double and 1 twin, are comfortable and individually decorated and all have en-suite facilities. There are kettles and tea making facilities. All the rooms are equipped with good hi-fi ipod docks and access to wi-fi. There are plenty of books, magazines and cds available. Televisions are available on request. The beds are very comfortable with feather duvets and pillows and the best Egyptian cotton bed linen. (Synthetic duvets etc. are available if that is your preference). There are hairdryers, hot water bottles and extra blankets in all the rooms. The price for all rooms is based on two people sharing. Single occupancy is from £50 a night. There is a supplement of £5 for one night bookings. I serve delicious breakfasts only using the best quality ingredients; homemade bread, preserves and fresh eggs from my own free range chickens, and local or fair trade and humanely produced food. Children and dogs are always welcome. I hope to make your stay here special and memorable.
