The Lake District National Park is not only England's largest National Park, but also home to it's highest Mountain - Scafell Pike at 978m - and England's deepest Lake - Wastwater (or Wast Water) which is almost 3 miles long, and 79m deep. Surprisingly the surface of the Lake is 200ft above sea level and it's bottom is 50ft below sea level.



In fact the Lake District boasts 12 of England's largest Lakes and 3,500km of open space, so you can walk, swim, boat or splash away as much as you like.
