Description

The Black Bull is situated in the picturesque and historic Cambridgeshire Town of Godmanchester. From Roman times Godmanchester was an important centre and served as a point of access to cross the River Ouse. The stagecoach as we know it first appeared on England’s roads in the early 16th century. A stagecoach is so called because it travels in segments or “stages” of 10 to 15 miles. At a stage stop, usually a coaching inn, horses would be changed and travellers would have a meal or a drink, or stay overnight. The Black Bull in Godmanchester became an important staging point. Today the Grade 2 listed building still retains it's old world charm with four open fireplaces, exposed beams and other original features. Our cosy bar serves a range of perfectly kept real ales, a quality wine list and hot and cold soft drinks. You can eat a cooked breakfast at the weekends or continental breakfast Monday - Friday, take morning coffee, lunch or a choose from our evening menu of high quality, home cooked traditional pub food. Outside to the front is a small seating area and to the back we have a huge beer garden and free car park. Our guests have access our free superfast Wifi.
